It is essential to know that employees want more than a paycheck. My research proved that RNs' want and need more than pay satisfaction to stay in your organization. Data confirmed that pay must be competitive, but it does not prevent an employee from wanting to quit. It is time to consider all the variables that go into employee retention. Healthcare leaders must know their data and where to put the efforts necessary to reduce the demand for recruiting by satisfying retention.
